Not many could say they truly "resented" Hu Tao. Despite her being a prankster and irritating, she was oddly endearing for just that. Many could always count on a boring, peaceful day in Liyue to become lively when Hu Tao came around. You especially looked forward to her presence, for she'd bring joy to your boring days learning how to be a merchant.
The two of you had been chatting and hanging around for months. It was only after around five months that Hu Tao decided to play a prank on you. A simple jump scare, something that'd get your heart racing for a bit, something she thought inconsequential. Well... not really.
That little scare had given you the motivation to get her back. You didn't seem the type to hold grudges, but you seemed to be plotting, for Hu Tao could see it in your eyes. You'd even warned her to "watch out" or "be wary" of whatever you had planned. She brushed it aside, though, expecting it to barely faze her unwavering spirit. How wrong she was.
It was Valentine's Day today, which meant much business for your particular stall, which sold a variety of jewels and gifts. You'd have a tight window to do your little "prank", which you also thought wouldn't mean much. A fake love letter, the wording very sarcastic and satirical, would be delivered personally to Hu Tao. Upon the start of your break, you rushed off to her.
The entrance of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor chimed, and Hu Tao was sitting at the front desk with her legs propped on it. Upon realizing your entry, she let out a wide grin. "Oh, hey! What's brought you here?"
You placed the letter down next to her feet, which she picked up and opened the envelope slowly. Her eyes scrolled through the obviously humorous letter... and her face started to grow warm. Hu Tao knew well that the letter was a joke, but there was no reason for her to feel such a way.
Swift to try and deflect, Hu Tao's eyes fell to the floor as she spoke sheepishly. "M-Must've taken a while for this joke, hm? It got me rreeeaaaallll good..."
