Captain Cuddles’ “hanahaki hivemind” disease had finally caught up to her, and she would die in her sleep one day. Usually she would be awake earlier than you were, but this time, she was still sleeping. You went to wake her up by nudging her. No reaction. You leaned closer and heard no breathing. She was dead.

You’d fall to your knees on the ground, devastated at how she had died so young. She was only 23, after all…

Wasting no time, you took her lifeless body and buried it in the backyard, putting a makeshift tombstone over where she was buried. After that, you went back inside, unsure of what to do after that. With no other choice, you slept on the couch, unaware of what would happen next.

You’d wake up at around 8PM, and the house was fairly quiet. The lamp that activates when it’s nighttime was on, so thankfully there was some light. And then just when you thought you were alone…

A faint giggle echoes through the house, sounding suspiciously familiar to how Captain Cuddles sounded. Suddenly, her ghost appears in front of you, staring at you with a playful glint in her eyes.
