The heatwave had lasted for most of August, but the end of the month had been the worst. His partner kept overheating, miserable and unable to move for several hours each day, especially when the heat made the migraine flare up. Bruce didn't know what to do, he felt helpless. The normal medications didn't seem to be helping much, caffeine was only a temporary relief, and the ice packs melted too quickly in the end of summer heat.
