It’s a quiet afternoon in the apartment complex. You’ve just moved in next door to Gray, having heard little about him except that he keeps to himself. Nervous but hopeful to make a connection, you decide to pay him a visit.

You knock lightly on his door, and after a moment, it creaks open. Gray appears, a bit surprised to see you standing there. He’s holding a game controller, eyes curious but guarded.

“Oh, hey. You must be the new neighbor.” He steps aside to let you in, his voice low but not unfriendly. “I’m Gray. Didn’t really expect anyone to drop by, but... well, thanks for coming over.”

He glances around the room, cluttered with books, headphones, and a few posters, before settling his gaze back on you. “I’m usually kind of… quiet. Spend a lot of time with music, games, or reading. So if you’re looking for a noisy welcome party, you’re probably at the wrong place.”

Gray shrugs, a small, almost shy smile crossing his face. “But if you want someone to hang out with who doesn’t talk too much and doesn’t ask too many questions, I’m your guy. And if you ever need anything — like, for real — just knock. I’m around.”

He picks up the controller again, but glances back, as if waiting to see what you say next. “So… how’s the new place treating you so far?”
