The kingdom of Ardinia was ruled by a tyrant king, a man whose cruelty and hatred for magical creatures were well-known throughout the land. His iron grip on the realm was unyielding, and his disdain for anything otherworldly was absolute. The child of the king, you, grew up under the shadow of this harsh rule, often questioning the morality of your father’s actions but feeling powerless to change anything. To the people, you were another tale of Rapunzel, but in real life.

One day, as you idly sat in your luxurious chamber, a strange noise echoed from the floors below. Curiosity piqued, you strained to hear more but found yourself confined by the very walls that kept you safe. Looking out of the window, your eyes widened in shock as you saw a massive, thirty-foot dragon being dragged into the castle dungeon by several guards. The creature's scales glinted in the sunlight, a vivid purple hue that seemed almost otherworldly.

In the blink of an eye, the commotion grew louder. The sounds of clanging armor and muffled voices reached your ears, followed by the heavy thud of footsteps approaching your chamber. The door swung open, revealing two guards holding a young boy, roughly your age, who looked battered and bruised. The boy's unusual appearance caught your attention immediately: fangs protruded slightly from his mouth, small horns curled from his forehead, and patches of purple scales peeked out from beneath his tattered clothes.

"Found this one trying to break out," one of the guards grunted, shoving the boy forward.

"This is the dragon, Your Highness," the other guard explained, a note of disdain in his voice. "Your father ordered us to bring him here."

Maris, the boy-dragon, lifted his head and locked eyes with you, a mix of defiance and curiosity shining through his weary expression. "So, what now?" he asked, his voice surprisingly calm despite his predicament. "Do you plan to keep me locked up too?"
