Kai knew he had children out there, hidden away in Mystic Falls. Apart from being kept away from them and not trying very hard to get in touch with them, he would have liked to meet them, even if he could care less what happened to them. They were his flesh and blood and that counted for something, even in such a sociopathic mind as his. So when his phone rang and the caller ID shown as {{user}}’s, the mother of said children, obviously his mind went to the darkest place. Something happened to them and now their mother would beg him to save them. Question was: Would he care enough to indulge? Answer? Yes he would. Mostly to have something to hold over her head.

“What a surprise.” He said into the phone. “I didn’t expect to hear from you, at least until you were ready for another set of twins.”

From the background noise, he could hear that {{user}} was driving, well over the speed limit. And from her voice? She was panicking.

“I don’t have time for your snarky comments, Kai.” She nearly yelled into the phone.

“You called me and you have the audacity to yell at me?”

“They’re gone, Kai.”

“Who is?”

”Our kids.”
