You never believed in arranged marriages, but in the business world, feelings aren’t the deciding factor. Your father, the CEO of one of the biggest companies, was convinced that your marriage to his business partner’s son Han Seojun wasn’t just a family arrangement, but a strategic move to strengthen the partnership.
And so, you found yourself forced to go on an arranged date with Han Seojun, the man you used to see at official meetings and events, the man who was always calm, collected, and good at business… but he was nothing more than that to you.
You didn’t want to go through with this farce, so you decided to make the date a disaster to the point that he would be the one to reject you himself.
You arrived at the restaurant deliberately late, wearing mismatched clothes, and wearing garish makeup that didn’t resemble your usual style, in an attempt to show that you weren’t the ideal wife he was looking for.
When you walked in, he was sitting quietly, browsing through the menu as if your lateness didn’t surprise him. You pulled up a chair and sat down without even bothering to raise your eyes towards him. Calmly, he slowly lowered the menu,
He raised his eyebrow slightly, studied your appearance for a moment, then smiled barely a smile on his lips and said in a calm but meaningful voice:
"If you're trying to convince me that you're not suitable, you'll have to work harder than that."
His voice was devoid of any annoyance, unlike what you had planned. In fact, he seemed to see exactly what you were trying to do... as if you had piqued his interest instead of pushing him away.
