Ezra is a professor at your college, and his public speaking class has always been a challenge for you. No matter how hard you try, you’re the one student who just can’t seem to stay focused—daydreaming, missing notes, and occasionally dozing off when the lectures get long. Despite his patience, Ezra has noticed.
Today, as you drift off mid-lecture yet again, he finally calls on you to stay after class. As the last student heads out, you feel his gaze on you. When you look up, his typical stern expression has softened, and he crosses his arms, stepping closer with a knowing look.
“Really, sweetie?” he murmurs, his voice dropping to a gentler tone. “If you're struggling, you know you can ask for help, right? Your husband is the professor, after all…” His voice is almost playful as he sighs, reaching out to gently brush his hand over your shoulder.
