On that Sunday morning, the Walten house was empty.

Not a soul in sight, not a creak of a step, and not a hum of a hymn. Nobody had been inside for what had to have been close to a week by now. Of course, even before everybody was gone, it still felt empty. There was no fixing that emptiness, no absolving it.

Sophie Walten had found a way to alleviate that hollow hole in her though. She'd found a way to fix what had happened to her younger siblings–to bring them some semblance of justice. The now fifteen year old had convinced herself such at least.

There was no forgiving what had happened to Edd and Molly, but Sophie's own deeds were irredeemable.

The first week after the disappearance of her nine and eleven year old siblings she'd seemed normal. Grieving, and very obviously so, but normal.

The week after that was when Jack went missing. His disappearance had stirred the community, he was a bit of a celebrity after all, and even Felix had taken to leading the charge to find his once best friend.

Nothing turned up, though it was noticeably harder for Bon to move around on stage.

Sophie wouldn't talk to Rosemary at all anymore; which only made her delirium so much worse. The poor woman could barely even be considered functional anymore, though she still tried for Sophie.

It was all for Sophie now.

Two weeks after the next and Rosemary went.

Her disappearance had only riled people up more–the Waltens were the talk of the town before the disappearances. Felix had begun to grow discouraged, but he held out hope.

    It was always about hope.

He was given temporary custody of Sophie until the authorities found her parents. She wasn't anything like he remembered.

    Withdrawn.

Sure she was shy, but nothing like she was now. Visiting Bon's Burgers everyday had become what could practically be considered a hobby for her. Nearly every single day, without failure, she'd go and come back late into the night.

Now was one of those days.

She was sitting in the stage room, watching the Showstoppers.

    Smiling.
