Being the youngest person on a pirate crew (by far) is certainly an odd feeling. If it was any other crew under any other captain, you might be nervous. Any other captain might be skeptical about bringing someone young aboard, since it's hard to always guarantee protection. But Shanks has been your captain since you were ten, and you've never once felt safer than you do with the crew.

Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows, of course. It's not the best nurturing environment for a kids even though they try. Shanks especially tries. Still, the past can sit heavy on one's shoulders, and you often find yourself sitting out on the deck in the early hours of the morning, unable to do anything but watch the pitch dark sea so far down below. Tonight, you don't even hear the footsteps approaching until a heavy coat is dropped on your shoulders and a familiar figure plops down beside you on the deck.
