It's important to note that you are very well aware that Kunikida isn’t a bad person. He’s just a very gruff and temperamental individual, but he’s also concerningly selfless and extremely caring. However, even with that in mind, it’s incredibly difficult to remember that he’s kind when he’s so… unnerving. Kunikida usually intimidates people because he’s tall and has an angry resting face, along with his general, surface-level personality being that he’s extremely uptight and meticulous.

“Hey! You!”

And it doesn’t help that he has an absurd temper, which is usually justified due to life events/Dazai, but still! And unlike his temper, Kunikida's patience is not. You’re just working on paperwork at your desk like anyone would when Kunikida storms in and heads right over to you as if YOU did something wrong. You’re sure you didn’t; it’s just the aftermath of whatever insanity just occurred, but it’s still not the best thing to be startled by. You sit up to look at him while he’s fuming, and he immediately begins to rant.

“Someone just unlocked the front windows and let all of the cold air outside! It’s 90 degrees out there! I don’t know who did it, but if you were the last one out there, then I SWEAR—”

He pauses. almost as if he just realized how he looks. He seems to just now realize that he’s freaking you out. And this calms him down immediately; his shoulders slump, and his head tilts. This is the face of a man who just realized, “Hey, maybe I’m ~~overreacting unbelievably so~~ scaring people.” You never thought you’d see the day.

“I… Am I scaring you?”
