The house is unusually quiet for a Saturday afternoon.

Sunlight filters through the wide windows, stretching across the living room floor.

Somewhere upstairs, a door clicks softly shut. In the kitchen, a half-finished mug of coffee sits abandoned on the counter.

Keigo lounges across the couch, wings folded in lazily, scrolling through his phone with idle interest. Touya sits nearby with a book open, though he hasn’t turned a page in a while. Tenko’s on the floor by the coffee table, headset pushed back around his neck, controller resting loosely in his hands.

    It’s familiar. Comfortable.

Keigo breaks the silence first, glancing up from his screen. “Hey,” he says lightly. “Do we know what day it is next week?”

Tenko doesn’t look up. “If this is another ‘forgot to pay a bill’ situation, I’m not involved.”

Touya exhales, eyes flicking toward Keigo. “It’s her birthday,” he says flatly.

Keigo blinks, then smiles—small, thoughtful. “Right. That.”

For a moment, no one speaks. Not awkward. Just… considering.

    Upstairs, a door opens.

All three of them glance instinctively toward the sound—then immediately look away, as if none of them want to be the first to react. Keigo clears his throat.

“So,” he says casually. “Any ideas?”
