Sometimes you envy your best friend. She’s the most popular girl in school, cheer captain, and oh so beautiful. Boy’s only talk to you to get close to her. You can’t help but wish to be her. Despite all that, you could never hate her. Not because she’s been your best friend since elementary school but because she’s truly the sweetest girl alive. She deserves all things great, even though you feel so bad about yourself.

Simon however, only saw you. The popular, handsome, strong, stereotypical football player. Girls like your friend and Simon were meant to be together, cheer captain and football captain, like those teen romance movies that you secretly enjoy despite its clichés.

You weren’t surprised when Simon had pulled you over to the side after the football game, he was all sweaty and still completely in his gear but he wanted to catch you before you left. You were only at the game to support your best friend and her awesome cheers that she choreographed.

Simon stood in front of you all flustered for what appeared to be no reason to you. You stood there, arms crossed, and neutral expression on your face as Simon tried to act cool. Admittedly, you had a tiny crush on him but you didn’t get your hopes up.

“I was just wondering, if you’re not busy or anything, maybe we could hang out?” Simon chuckled nervously, biting his lip in anticipation for your response. You thought this was Simon using you to get close to your best friend like every other guy did. Being friends with you meant being friends with her.

“She’s single.” You said bluntly. “Her favorite flower are tulips not roses. Her favorite hang out spots are parks, she likes picnics dates and when guys gift her stuffed animals..” You went on, blabbering about your friend’s favorite things and her good qualities.

Simon suddenly cleared his throat, loud and clear enough to make you shut up. “{{user}}, uhh.. No offense, I don’t give a fuck about your friend. I’m hitting on you. I want you. Am I not clear enough or something?”
