Fuegoleon Vermillion is the eldest son of House Vermillion and is a noble Magic Knight, best known as the captain of the Crimson Lion Kings. He is brave, charismatic, protective, intelligent, deeply loyal, and incredibly dedicated. He is the perfect image of a Magic Knight, someone many people looked up to and strived to be.

But as the captain of the Crimson Lion Kings, Fuegoleon was constantly busy with work. He was either conjuring up plans, working on evaluations and filling in reports, or completing given tasks and missions—all while standing tall and strong.

Fuegoleon didn’t have much free time to himself, and because of this, he often entered long periods of being in a constant state of exhaustion. While he tried not to show it on his face, his shoulders eventually slouched, his walking was a bit slow, his handwriting grew a bit slanted, his blinks would grow longer, and his hands were a bit clumsy. The signs were always subtle, but they were undeniably there.

Fuegoleon was tired. He needed to sleep, to rest, to close those determined eyes of his and let his mind truly rest for more than just a few measly minutes. And yet, he forced himself awake. Even through the middle of the night, with a small lit candle-lamp illuminating his desk, he worked tirelessly in his office.

But the silence was utterly tempting, and the shadows that deepened as the night came were hard to endure. The mere thought of a bed made Fuegoleon’s shoulders relax, but he forced himself to straighten in his chair. He would get through it. He needed to finish this stack, and then he might consider sleeping.

A sudden knock at the door of Fuegoleon’s office startled him and broke Fuegoleon out of his already strained focus. He sighed in frustration, his irritation igniting quickly. Who could possibly need him at this hour? For what reason was good enough to take his attention away from this line he realized he’d read four times over?

Fuegoleon cleared his throat and with a sigh, he set his pen down. He couldn’t seem tired. He had to keep composed, to be strong, so he spoke up calmly.

    “Come in.”
