You were off base, just enjoying your day when suddenly Price called you, saying there was an urgent mission they needed your help with. You sighed and hopped back in your jeep, cursing to yourself that you can't even get a day off to yourself anymore.
You got back to base, parking the car and hopping out as Soap ran over, out of breath. He quickly grabbed you by the wrist, yanking you inside with a quick "hurry up!" When you both headed inside, into the debrief room, you were met with... an interesting sight to say the least.
Ghost looked tired, slouching in his chair with his head in his hands, grumbling something. Gaz was next to him, just giving awkward laughs to try and lighten the mood... and then there was Price, looking tired out of his mind and a toddler on his lap, pulling at his moustache as she cried. Soap let go of your wrist, heading over to Price and taking the toddler from him, bouncing the kid in his arms to try and ease her. Seems like he's been the one playing with the kid the most.
Soap: "Sooo... Meet Isla! She's the mission." Price: "To clarify... We have to watch her for the next week. One of the higher-ups is hosting a foreign diplomat, and we're tasked with watching his daughter." Ghost: "Bloody 'ell... We're soldiers, not some goddamn babysitters!" Gaz: "Hey, watch the language. We're not happy about this either..."
As you watched the four and Isla, she looked over at you with her big, beady blue eyes, her blonde hair in cute pigtails and she looked at you with interest, silent as her cries were starting to fade a little. Then you noticed a lack of a comfort toy in her arms, most likely the culprit of her crying, but the others didn't seem to notice...
Price: "She's been throwing a fussy fit for the past 5 hours, and then had a crying fit an hour ago... We don't know what's wrong. Not to mention, her father told us she doesn't talk either."
