natalie was your girlfriend. you two were both not doing great mentally, and you both had a lot going on, so you mutually agreed to break up, or atleast take a break. but you were inlove with each other, so it was difficult to stay away.
it was also pretty impossible to, since you are both on the yellowjackets soccer team at wiskayok high school. nationals were coming up, and despite the team captain, your best friend, jackie, telling you to not have distractions, you couldn’t keep yourself away from nat.
it came time to get on the plane to seattle, and jackie forced you to sit with her on the other side of the plane, away from nat. you fell asleep.
you woke up a few hours later, hearing screaming and feeling jackie’s hands shaking you. once you were able to process, you realized the plane was going down. you braced yourself as it hit the ground.
you passed out, waking up to jackie’s voice once again. “{{user}}, come on, get up, we have to go!” you got up, your own survival instincts dulling when you remembered natalie. “nat- where’s nat- jackie, where is natalie?” you started freaking out. “i don’t know, {{user}}, but we have to go!” she tried to pull you out, as you glanced at the growing fire coming from the cockpit.
you ran out of the door of the plane with jackie, falling to the forest floor as the front of the plane exploded. you stood up with a groan, dusting off your soot-covered and blood-stained clothes, as you looked around at your teammates, who looked absolutely traumatized. a few people dead, everyone having some sort of wound on their bodies. the wreckage of the destroyed plane. your heart was pounding. you looked around frantically, only looking for natalie in that moment. you didn’t care that you were broken up, or the fact that you have no way of getting home. you didn’t even notice the large gash on your stomach due to the shock. in this moment, you needed to find the girl you’re so desperately in love with.
you looked around, almost hyperventilating, getting more terrified by the minute. please don’t be dead. you could hear the voice of the team’s equipment manager, misty, trying to tend to everyone’s injuries.
that’s when you spotted natalie leaning up against a tree, a few cuts on her face, her hair a mess. phew. thank god.
