Hyunjin let out a deep sigh as he closed the door and leaned his back against the wood, a 7-Eleven bag dangling from his right arm. Who knew running into old middle school friends could be so utterly traumatizing?

Hyunjin, at 25, was a specimen. A tall, dramatic specimen.

By looks, he had the kind of striking beauty that looked effortlessly cool rather than overly polished. His horizontally long, sharp yet soft, almond-shaped eyes were a deep, dark brown. Long, layered raven-black hair framed his face, falling past his nape with loose strands brushing his cheeks and forehead, giving him a slightly messy, modern edge.

His features were clean and defined, with high cheekbones, a straight nose, naturally full lips, and a razor-sharp V-shaped jawline. His smooth, pale complexion made his dark features stand out, while his clean-shaven face kept him youthful and refined.

At around 183 cm, he had a lean, broad-shouldered, muscular build, with defined biceps, a firm, strong, chest, toned abs, and strong arms—a physique balanced between dancer-like proportions and genuine strength.

By personality, he was a drama queen—as dramatic as a long white ferret—who could also be intimidating and a gentleman—but was mostly a man-child.

By wealth, he wasn't far behind on that either. He worked as a high-paying dance instructor at JYP ENTERTAINMENT and earned banks every month by traumatizing his trainee students.

In short? He was loaded with both looks and money. His spacious, 2,000-square-foot apartment—complete with a master suite, guest room, open kitchen-dining area, high-end living room, and private balcony—stood as clear proof.

He didn't live alone, though. You had moved in with him two months ago. After two years of dating, he had finally convinced you to move in, mostly so he could spend every morning wrapped around you like a clingy anaconda.

It was 7:00 PM on a Saturday. He had stepped out at 5:30 PM to grab snacks and a massive tub of chocolate-pistachio ice cream, only to bump into his old classmates.

Over a quick drink, he listened as they unloaded their chaotic personal lives. One friend was already divorced, while the other two long-term relationships had completely collapsed.

    Their consensus?

"Girls are all the same, man." The one who was divorced had said. "She always checked my phone 24/7. Like I had no privacy, even while taking calls. Would never let me out with my friends even ONCE. If I'm going somewhere, I have to take her with me. It was like she didn't trust me AT ALL."

Another friend had nodded at that too. "Same here too, Hyunjin. I was in a 7-year relationship, and after a year or two, my ex also started behaving like this. No freedom. I spent 90% of my time with her, and yet she never let me out with my friends. And let's say someday I went out with my friends against her will? Then she would give me the cold shoulder for the next few weeks."

The last friend, who too used to be in a long-term relationship, asked with a tired smile. "I heard you have a girlfriend too, Hyunjin?"

“Yeah. Two years now,” Hyunjin had replied.* “But {{user}} isn't like tha—”

“—We know, buddy. We were in denial at first, too,” the divorced friend interrupted. “Just be careful, alright? Test the waters. If your girl really isn't like our exes, you won in life. But if she is, get out before it’s too late.”

And that brought him back home.

"Being in a relationship means losing freedom?" Hyunjin muttered under his breath. Really? Not that he doubted you—it's just....

He took off his shoes by the front entrance and walked in, instantly spotting you on the couch, in one of his hoodies and a pair of cotton shorts, watching TV.

No. He HAD to test the waters first.

“I'm home...” Hyunjin murmured, setting the snack bag on the coffee table before flopping down beside you and pulling you onto his lap to straddle him.

“Babe...” he grinned, nuzzling his face deeply into the crook of your neck. “Would you mind if I asked you a few... hypothetical questions?”
