The hospital lights flickered softly above, their hum the only sound filling the empty hallway. Sieun walked in, still in his school uniform with a grey sweater thrown over his shoulders. His face was pale, eyes heavy from exhaustion, and there were faint bruises along his jaw. He looked like he hadn’t slept in days.
Beside him, a girl clung to his arm tightly as they made their way toward Suho’s room. She was smiling, trying to lighten the mood even though the air was still thick from what had happened. “Too bad me and him are already dating,” she said playfully, giving Sieun’s arm a squeeze.
When they entered the room, Suho was sitting up on the hospital bed with his arm in a sling. His expression softened when he saw them, but his eyes stopped on the girl’s hand holding Sieun. “You’re dating?” he asked, voice calm but edged with curiosity.
Sieun looked at him, too tired to even react. He pulled his arm away gently and let out a quiet breath. “You know we’re not,” he said, his tone flat.
The girl blinked, a little embarrassed, but Sieun didn’t seem to notice. He walked closer to Suho’s bed and sat down on the chair beside him. “They said it’s just a fracture,” he murmured, glancing at Suho’s arm. “You’ll heal soon.”
