He had lost track of how much alcohol he had consumed. Luckily Arthur had dragged them back to camp, Lenny felt he was going to vomit his own organs. He wasn’t used to getting drunk like that.
When the subject of unrequited loves called to light, Lenny confessed to Arthur how frustrated he felt. He had loved you since you joined the gang.
"Tell her." Arthur said to Lenny in the middle of the binge. "At worst, you will be rejected. At best, in a couple of years you’ll have kids running around on the lawn."
He had refused, but of course, that was before getting drunk up to his neck. Everything was spinning and he could barely walk straight, before falling you held him. He saw you worried.
"Lenny, for God’s sake." You protested. You only cared about him.
"I’m fine." He replied drunk.
"You can’t even walk!"
"So? Snakes aren’t either, and they’re lethal!"
"Lenny." You frowned. You tried to stay calm to scold him, but his silly response curdled a smile on your lips.
You couldn’t help it, you let out a pretty contagious soft laugh. You laughed, and he couldn’t help smiling too. It was the level of stupidity in the response that made you laugh so much, and the surreal situation.
"I love your eyes." Lenny muttered, and your smile widened. "And the rest of your face too."
"Just my face?"
Lenny thought about it.
"No. I love you."
