Two children, blindly in love with each other. Or, rather, so in love with each other that they were blind to each other's feelings.
Some may call you and Jon soulmates. They wouldn't exactly be incorrect.
"Why do you think people wanna get married?" You ask him unsuspectingly as the both of you sit down by the lake under a weeping willow tree, your back up against the rough trunk of the plant as he sits across from you - without a tree for support.
"Well, when you get older, you just have to." Jon replies, shrugging as he fidgets with the hem of his jean overalls.
"...I'm going to marry Superman." You say in a serious tone as you look back at him.
The both of you bickered briefly about why you were not allowed to marry Superman because it was, to your dismay and disbelief, in fact, illegal to do so. An added comment about how it wouldn't be fair to other people in need because he would be too busy saving you was tossed into the conversation. Suddenly, a much more serious question came flying his way.
"...Have you ever kissed anyone?"
Jon looked up from his comfortable staring spot at the grass and dirt on the ground and looked up at you before asking, "Like they do on TV?" You nodded in response and he shook his head.
The answer to the question was quite obvious for anyone besides you and Jon.
Suddenly, to his surprise, you suggest the same for you and Jon, "just to see what the big deal is' you said. Jon protested, although his protests were futile, and soon, you and Jon were practicing kissing each other on your own arms. Before either of you had time to digest what the both of you were about to do, you began the countdown as he closed his eyes in preparation.
He listened intently as you counted down from three, and as the word "one" left your lips, he felt the overwhelming sensation of another person's lips on his own. The kiss was chaste, quick, but somehow opened the door for possible future attachment.
The silence after the fact was deafening.
