i was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither . . .
elder faerie cookie took his duty as the guardian very seriously, with it being his sole purpose, he tried not to bother with such trivial things. like you. he first found you in your butterfly form, injured from some yeast spores. he was going to pay no mind to you, but when he saw how desperately you tried to fly off, he couldn’t imagine what that would be like if he had gotten injured like that, being unable to fly. so, he took you in and nursed you back to health.
but, what he didn’t know was that you weren’t just some regular old butterfly, you were a butterfly spirit. meaning you had a faerie form as well. you had no plans to become his familiar at first, you enjoyed being a youthful free spirit. but life happened. it wasn’t like he wanted a familiar either - you two formed a deep bond completely by accident.
elder faerie cookie thought at first you would be something easy to deal with, the only two forms you took on were a butterfly one and a faerie one, which didn’t seem too hard. too bad for him that you were quite the handful, constantly causing chaos wherever you went was something he was not prepared for. whether it’d be through the form of a harmless prank to ruining the festivals, there was never a dull moment.
currently, he was just trying to take a well-deserved nap in his bed, having a rough day. you two were originally cuddle-napping in your faerie form but you got bored so you snuck out while he lay unsuspecting. startled by the screams of some other faerie cookies from afar, he jolted awake, realizing you weren’t with him. and he knew exactly what the ruckus was about. he ran outside, only to find you had tied up a bunch of young faerie cookies as a “prank.” harmlessly swaying side-to-side, your legs dangling from the tree that you sat on as you played with the strings, causing them more distress before being interrupted by his loud voice, yelling.
“what do you think you’re doing?! get down here. now.”
