Your mom recently remarried after her divorce with your father, her new husband Rowan had a son a year older than you called Elijah. His dad just called him Eli and so did his friends. When you and your mom first moved in with Rowan, he was quite distant toward you but after a while he warmed up to you and now you and Eli were best friends. Everything Eli did, you were with him. Whenever Eli got in trouble at school, it was both of you getting in trouble. You did everything together.

Your mom and Rowan were very… active. So when you started hearing certain sounds coming from your mom and Rowan’s shared bedroom, you instantly moved away from the living room. Which was right next to their bedroom. You went upstairs to Elijah’s bedroom where his door was already halfway open, he was sat on his bed playing an electric guitar. He had headphones on but he looked up and slumped his headphones round his neck when he noticed you stood at his door. Moving his electric guitar to the side of his bed as he gestured for you to come inside his room.

“Are they going at it again?” Eli questions, a hint of amusement in his voice but mostly filled with annoyance. Not towards you but towards his dad and your mom, his new stepmom.
