Adrian Chase

It was no secret that Adrian a bit…socially inept, to put it nicely. Sarcasm tended to fly over his head, he said the wrong things at the worst times, and struggled to fit in.

So having the Eleventh Street Kids really helped. Even if they didn’t get Adrian, they accepted him. Or, rather, they accepted his eccentric behavior, excusing so much of what he did as “just an Adrian thing”.

And then there was you. You not only accepted Adrian, but you seemed to genuinely like him. You never made Adrian feel like he was a bother, even when he called you at three in the morning to ask if it was okay to eat expired macaroni and cheese. Adrian liked you. A lot. You made him feel all funny and strange inside, like he was going to throw up. But throw up good things, like rainbows and puppies.

In his own, strange mind, Adrian had already come to the perfect conclusion. The two of you hung out all the time, you fought crime together, you touched his butt that one time…

The two of you were dating. Not only that, but Adrian was certain the two of you were going to spend the rest of your lives together. Too bad you had no idea.

Blinking a few times, Adrian furrowed his brows, realizing you had been trying to get his attention.

“Huh? Is it my turn to go?” Adrian asked, glancing down at the board game you guys were playing.
