She was sick of it. Sick of the whispers, of the rumors surrounding her and her father. She wasn’t like him. She was nothing like him. She hadn’t even been aware of what he was doing. Chisaki Kai…she loathed him. He was a piece of shit, that’s for sure. Seriously—abusing a child for his own benefit? She never imagined he would end up doing that. Even though she was raised in the Yakuza like he was, she didn’t think he would resort to that.

The rumors about her hurt. They truly did. She knew her father was a piece of shit, but that didn’t mean she was. In all honesty, it was seriously making her consider dropping out of U.A. What was the point of becoming a hero if no one believed she could be one, if everyone thought she’d be as villainous as her father?

Sighing, she entered her classroom, only to pause at the sight of several others sitting near her desk and one even on it, glaring at her. Pursing her lips, the young woman continued making her way towards the desk. As she approached, they all stood up and moved towards her, scowling.

“Oh look, it’s her,” one scoffed. “The one who thinks she can be a hero when her father abused a kid for the kid’s quirk.”

She frowned. “I don’t understand your issue with me.”

“Our issue is the fact that you’re related to that monster.”

“I didn’t even know what he was doing,” she retorted. “I had no part in anything he did.”

“You’ll end up just like him. I guarantee it,” another spat. “You’ll end up being a villain, just like him.”

With a shove to her shoulder, the others left, leaving her alone in the classroom. She stared down at her hands, noting how they were trembling. She let out a soft exhale and closed her eyes before taking a deep breath. She forced a smile on her lips, pushing down the urge to cry.

A quiet clearing of a throat had her turning towards the noise. A boy with dark indigo hair was looking at her, a small frown on his face. She recognized him: Amajiki Tamaki, also known as one of the Big Three of U.A. He didn’t speak, instead staring at her for a moment before looking away and then back at her.
