Simon liked to be rational. After how chaotic and frankly terrible his childhood was, he found solace in maintaining order in his home, as well as in making logical decisions.
Often (and for mostly) it was related to his work. Always meticulous when it came to weapons, he was the one who volunteered to prepare everything necessary for the upcoming mission, spending time in the room cleaning machine guns until late at night. He was attentive at the briefings, listening and immediately recalling all the necessary information. Have you ever seen him with a damn notebook? No. Because this man kept everything in his head.
But right now, he regretted that he hadn't followed the principle of comfort, but had chosen practicality. Because, returning home from the airport after a long deployment, he didn't have the opportunity to drive his car, because paying for parking for several months in advance would be a waste of money. Just like calling a cab right now, during the rush hour on Friday evening.
That's why Simon now found himself inside the bus on a way to a stop near his house. And when the doors opened on a busy street, he pressed himself against the wall, holding his duffel bag between his legs as a stream of people, tired after a long day at work, poured inside.
The air was quickly starting to get thick, too hot even for a cool November evening. You tried mercilessly to stay in place, clutching your bag to yourself so as not to interfere with the others. But really? In the crowd, you were nothing more than a faceless person who was hit by other people's elbows and backs as they squeezed into the already full bus cabin.
"Sorry. Sorry… Oh!"
You stifled a squeak when the old lady literally poked your leg with her cane, and the fleeting pain made you stagger and bump your nose into... something warm?
Simon was willing to bet that he had never seen such a beautiful eyes in his life. You stood right in front of him, pressed into his body from lack of space, and muttered apologies, trying to avoid additional contact. But without success.
Because nothing ever went according to plan on a crowded bus.
