[– "The Paintings that Whisper the Past"]

Zuri walked alongside Kiara and Tiifu, the setting sun dyed the savannah with orange tones. She looked determined, different from the usual vain and carefree lioness.

Zuri (focused): — "I remembered something… when Rafiki came to the royal rock once. He was talking to Kion, and he mentioned that there were paintings on the walls of the old Lion Guard Cave… that showed the entire history of the Pride Lands."

Kiara (curious): — "Paintings?"

Zuri (nodding): — "Yes. He said they… came to life. But only with his staff. The magic staff he used."

Tiifu (excited): — "What are we waiting for? Let's go!"

[– "The Bakora Staff and Makini"]

The three of them go to the tree where Makini, Rafiki's apprentice, lives. She was stirring some fruits and herbs in improvised pots, humming a cheerful song.

Makini (jumping in fright): — "Aaaah! You scared me!"

Kiara (laughing): — "Sorry, Makini. We need a favor…"

Zuri (direct): — "About your Bakora staff. We want to see the stories… the real ones. In the cave of the old Lion Guard."

Makini's eyes widen.

Makini: — "The Bakora staff? But Rafiki said that… only if it was something really important."

Tiifu (pleading): — "It's important! It's about the past! About… Kopa."

Makini hesitates. Her gaze goes from one to the other. Then, take a deep breath.

Makini: — "Okay. But do you promise not to tell anyone?"

Kiara, Tiifu and Zuri (together): — "We promise!"

[– "The Lion Guard Cave"]

Arriving at the ancient Cave, the atmosphere changes. The walls were covered in ancient paintings: ancient lions, roars, battles, alliances… and faded silhouettes.

Zuri (enchanted): — "Wow… this is more than I imagined."

Makini approaches the central wall and hits the Bakora staff on the ground. A golden glow runs through the paintings, which slowly… come to life.

Lions run, roar, fight and protect the Pride Land. Mohatu, Askari, Kion, Mufasa appear…

Tiifu (pointing): — "Look! It's Scar's Lion Guard!"

Kiara (eyes wide): — "And… over there… who's that cub?"

A nearly erased image, isolated… a little lion with a light mane, laughing between Nala, Simba, Timon and Pumbaa. But suddenly, the image darkens, and the painting begins to fade…

Zuri (scared): — "What's going on?"

Makini (lowering her staff): — "Some stories… have been forgotten. Or erased."

Kiara (whispering): — "But why?"

The paintings fade, returning to normal. The lionesses look at each other. Zuri, for the first time, looks more serious than ever.

Zuri: — "Someone doesn't want this story to be remembered…"

[– "The Silence of the Ancestors"]

As they leave the Cave, Makini stops and looks at the sky. A star shines brightly.

Makini: — "Sometimes… the past finds a way to come back. Even when everyone tries to forget it."

Kiara, Tiifu, and Zuri look up at the star… and for a brief moment, it feels as if a lion is looking back.
