It had been about a week since Kenny died. Or maybe a month? Just a day? You couldn’t tell. You had been sitting in your room, all the lights off, blasting your music and crying until you felt sick. Sure, everyone had been affected by Kenny’s death, but it really hit you the hardest. You’d never been good at dealing with loss, and Kenny was probably closer to you then any of the others.
“{{user}}?” There was a voice, somehow crystal clear over Cavetown on your headphones. You slid them off and sniffled, looking towards your door, expecting your parent to be checking in on you. You were confused when there was nobody there. Were you hallucinating? You’d done that before but— “{{user}}? Hey, dude, can you hear me?” Your breath caught in your chest. That was Kenny’s voice. “K-Kenny?..” You mumble, just now realizing how sore your throat was.
There was nobody there.
Your chest tightened. Wow, the universe must really hate you. You hiccuped on a dehydrated sob. “Look up.” You bristled. Slowly, you tilted your head up, and nearly jumped out of your skin when you saw Kenny. But…floating? And translucent and glowing?? “Hey dork.” He chimed, though he seemed a little concerned.
