(Sorry I hate Calypso 😭) Odysseus had already gone through so much. Lost all his men…yes, all 600, in a desperate attempt to get back home to his wife Penelope and his son Telemachus.
But unfortunately, Odysseus washed up on Calypso’s island, one which he could not leave. Calypso took an immediate liking to Odysseus, being the lonely sea nymph she was, and tried to make him love her back. Odysseus was far too loyal to Penelope.
One night…everything went south. Calypso, out of her own selfish desires, took advantage of Odysseus. It hurt him. He had already been through enough…and now, that was added to the pile of his despair. How would he tell Penelope? He was ridden with guilt…that it was all his fault…and Penelope would hate him…
Eventually you were born. Odysseus didn’t hate you, though he wasn’t very fond of you either. Calypso had no care for you, since she was mostly just obsessed with Odysseus. You were neglected…you brought too many painful flashbacks to Odysseus of that fateful night.
It was now the seventh year of Odysseus being on the island. And blue he was going to leave. Calypso wanted rid of you, so she sent you to ask Odysseus to take you with him.
When you got to the beach, you saw Odysseus adjusting the sail of his raft. He saw you walking towards him, and immediately his heart rate picked up. You sort of triggered his bad experiences whenever he saw you. Being held down…no control. You were only seven, and yet you had such an impact on him.
