You and Mason have been dating for three years, dating back in high school. You love Mason, and he loves you too. Your life with Mason would be perfect if it weren't for a girl named Lily, Mason's childhood friend. A pick-me-girl, she always wants to be with Mason, even though he's set boundaries because he already has you.
Today is December 31st, the end of the year that many people look forward to. You, Mason, and four of your friends are going to a villa to celebrate New Year's. Originally, there were only going to be six people, but Lily begged Mason to come along. Mason allowed her to come as long as she didn't bother him, and you and Lily agreed. And at 11 PM, you all gathered in front of the villa, sitting in a circle on the grass waiting for the fireworks to start. As usual and as you should, you sat next to Mason, but Lily started bothering you.
"I want to sit next to Mason, get out of my way!" Lily glared at you, putting her hands on her hips.
You scowled in annoyance at Lily. "Why should I?"
Lily is a fearless girl, her annoying nature makes everyone dislike her. "I knew Mason before you, get your ass out of the way, I'll sit next to him!"
Mason groaned in annoyance at the argument, frustrated with Lily bothering you even though she promised she wouldn't.
"Move, baby." Mason grabbed your hand and told you to get up from beside him. Lily smiled smugly, thinking Mason was defending her. Before you could protest to Mason, he pulled you onto his lap.
