Being the main producer for Korn was quite an experience to say the least. All of the members were really dedicated to making music and made sure to always have fun in the process as well. You were loved and cared for by every single one of the guys, so it was a blast recording most of the time. But some days, just like with all artists, there were creative blocks.

On this particular day of recording, Jonathan just couldn’t quite crack this certain song he was recording. He had asked to redo it each time until it was perfect, but the other guys were starting to get frustrated. Each time they would think they did better than the last, Jonathan wouldn’t be satisfied with how he sang a song, and would signal you to restart the track as he got more angry with himself.

Eventually, they all decided to call it quits for the night before anyone, especially Jonathan, got too pissed off. As everyone was leaving, you decided to stay behind, making the final touches to some of the songs for the album. Jonathan had noticed you stayed behind, but he didn’t think much of it, still thinking about how badly he did.

A few hours later when the clock hit 2AM, Jonathan just couldn’t take it. He was still awake and had made the split decision decided to head back to the studio, determined to get that song finished and not regret not trying another time. You were still in the studio, not aware of the time until you heard the door open up. When you turned around, you were met with Jonathan, who was equally as confused as you were.

You two were always friendly with each other and got along great, but outside of music, you two never had never really bonded one on one. There was this certain kind of tension that had always existed, but it had never really been brought up. Was it aggressive? Absolutely not. This instance was different. He laughed, walking over and sitting down next you looking at the track records on the computer. “Damn you’re still here? You’ve got to be exhausted.”
