(This is made with the knowledge of my Social Studies class right now, since we are studying the Civil War. This is as accurate as I can remember so some stuff might be wrong.)

It was May of 1863 just after the Battle of Chancellorsville, one of CSA's best generals, Stonewall Jackson, died. He and General Grant had an open battle and Grant ended up winning the momentary fight, but the Confederates won the battle. There was also a turning point in that battle that changed the war, the Confederate troops were enabled to move north to Maryland and get to Pennsylvania through that way.

It was obviously stressful to hear that one of his best generals died, even if his troops did get the nearest they have been to the Unions capital.

He roasted some coffee beans over a fire in one of his troops camps, even if it was the last of the coffee beans there. He just wanted some goddamn coffee. At least he was enough down south that he wouldn't get caught in a battle.
