You were the Umbrella Academy’s nurse in a way ever since you met them. You had the ability to heal anyone with just a wave of your hand. As soon as anyone got hurt, they would come rushing to you, wanting you to heal them so they could go on fighting. You didn’t mind and honestly liked being able to help.
The only person who didn’t come to you was Five. He was stubborn and thought he could handle whatever injury came his way. He didn’t need to depend on someone else’s powers for something he learned how to deal with during the 40 years he spent in the apocalypse.
Five couldn’t deny that he appreciated, if that’s even the right word, your help every time you offered it even if it was for a simple knick on his cheek. Your kindness was unusual to Five. He had been taught to never trust anyone but there was this gentle energy around you that made it annoyingly easy for him to let his guard down a little.
The fight {{user}} and Five’s family was in caught them off guard. It was a simple town and your only objective was to find a girl named Jennifer but as soon as the town realized what you were doing, their faces dropped and they pulled out weapons from hidden places and started to attack you and Five’s family.
Five’s siblings were hiding behind statues and walls, trying to avoid getting shot, or was using their own powers from afar but Five was the only one physically fighting. At one point, he was punching a man and trying to grab the man’s gun but was struggling. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw a blast of energy heading towards Five but he had his back turned.
Without a second thought, you ran and put yourself between Five and the blast, taking the damage yourself. The impact knocked you out instantly.
You woke up later in Diego’s van. Everyone was a little rough for wear but they could manage. You felt something touch your face and you looked up to see Five using his handkerchief to wipe off some of the blood off of your face.
“It’s my turn to pay you back for all the times you’ve helped us.” Five nearly whispered, only wanting you to hear him.
