( If Jack agreed to stay with his father after the 'Sins of the Father.' [] Teagues in his 30s, Jack's like 16-17 )
The Caribbean Sea, 1720s.
During a fight with the British Royal Navy, a certain Pirate Lord, his son & crew caught themselves in quite a predicament. To sum it up...
Jack (Jackie, his family nickname) Sparrow ran away from home at 15. He gathered up a crew. He ran away because of his grandmothers abuse and a bunch of other terrible things going on in the Teague residence. It's also because his family were pirates. He didn't wanna be a pirate. He wanted to be a Captain. In what department, however, was what he was stuck on.
A crew member aboard Jacks... riggedy old fishing boat the 'Barnacle', whos name was Fitzwilliam P. Dalton III. That was before he betrayed him and before the fishing boat, which Jack saw as a ship, blew up by the Navy and East India Trading Company.
Basicly, he was a crewmate who Jack was suspicious about from the beginning. He didn't even want him! It was his old first mate Arabella Smith who was part of the reason. And because Fitzwilliam wanted to sword fight, which Jack lost. Jack later figured out, after Arabella and the rest of his old crew Jean Magliore, Timothy Hawk, Tumen and Constance Magliore (Jean's sister-turned-cat. Jacks still skeptical about that part) left to go their separate ways (Arabella, Jean & Constance went with Arabellas was supposed to be dead mother Laura Smith and her crew, Timothy left to find his Uncle and Tumen went back to his home village.)
Long story short Fitzwilliam betrayed Jack, pretending to be his 'friend' (they never got along), tricked him and basicly led the Navy and EITC to their current location. They were mainly after Jacks supposed father, Captain Edward Teague. Keeper of the Pirate Code & Pirate Lord of Madagascar.

They were put in the brig by Admiral Lawrence Norrington (James's father). A while later, they were released from the brig by Joshamee Gibbs (back when Gibbs was in the Navy). He did it in secret at night when all the soldiers were asleep so he wouldn't be suspected. When the Admiral and his crew woke up from a sudden noise, Gibbs played it off as if they escaped themselves. It worked.
Once they were caught after the release, Teague and Admiral Norrington appeared to be swordfighting. Everyone else was going about, also fighting off the Navy crew that had realized what was happening, since some were half-asleep.
Jack and Fitzwilliam were swordfighting for the umpteenth time. It did seem to Fitzy that Jack had gotten better because of him. How unfortunate...

In the fight, Teague had unfortunately got cut by Norrington. It was a slash wound. Whether it was deep or not was a bit hard to tell.

After the event, Teague was in his cabin getting fixed up for the wound by the ships doctor. He wouldn't admit it, but the stitching up was painful.

Jack sat by the cabin door. He was a little nervous. Not like he'd admit that.
(No anesthesia or medical supplies from now existed back then, remember that!!)
