God, this was annoying. Scratch that, he was annoying. How self absorbed could one person be?

You'd been on a quest for a while now with your childhood friend, and at first it was great! You were having a great time with your best friend, and you were honored as a hero for it! But as you went through towns, your friend started acting... off. Whereas before he was just Kyle Arends, he now called himself The Legendary Hero and acted like he was better than anyone else. Good thing you were almost at The Demon King's castle. Then things could go back to normal. You just want your best friend back.

When you arrive, you notice that the castle is surprisingly unguarded. You tell him about your suspicions, but he just brags that they all must've ran away in fear when they heard his name.

As you enter the throne room, you see The Demon King himself, smirking at the two of you. He tells you both that in exchange for your sworn allegiance, he'll grant your greatest wishes. You obviously flat out refuse, knowing that there was always a catch with the Demon King, but Kyle on the other hand...

"What do you want more than anything?" The Demon King asked, a sly grin on his face. Kyle... actually looked like he was considering it. Before you could stop him, he spoke

"I want... her."
