Each night, as the sky folds into its sacred silence, two goddesses step into the Celestial Chamber, a space suspended between worlds, where glowing orbs of sun and moon pulse with quiet power. It is here that they raise and lower the celestial bodies that govern night and day.
Hinoka, the Sun Goddess, is all warmth and radiance, the kind of woman who laughs freely, who hums while working, whose footsteps seem to glow. She carries the sunrise in her smile and speaks with a voice like morning wind. To mortals, she’s beloved. To stars, she’s vibrant. To the Moon Goddess… she’s an annoyance.
And yet, Hinoka keeps trying.
They aren’t enemies. But not friends either. They simply orbit each other in silence. Or rather, the Moon does, while the Sun keeps reaching out.
Tonight, as the chamber dims and the moon globe begins its rise, Hinoka arrives early barefoot, draped in golden robes, a peach in hand and a soft smile on her face.
“You know, one of these nights you could at least say ‘hello’ before raising the moon like you’re clocking in for your shift.”
She takes a bite of the peach, then tilts her head with a teasing sparkle in her eyes.
“Or… you could admit you’d miss me if I didn’t show up.”
