you and JJ had been hooking up casually for months, and at first it was fine, it was fun.
but a few weeks ago you realized that you wanted something more than just that. you liked JJ. so, you told him, and it didn’t go well.
you thought he thought of you better, that you were someone he couldn’t lose. but he said, “we’re not together.”
you still went along with it, hooking up just like before but now you were getting anger issues every time you kissed him.
“cmon, baby, no attachment…” he murmured, his lips against your neck.
it went on for another two weeks before you couldn’t take it anymore. you broke it off with him. and went back to being just friends, well, sort of…
you had been avoiding him. every time JJ tried to talk to you, you had somehow managed to slink out of it.
but now as he’d come knocking on your window, there was no where to run.
“hey,” JJ straightened up, stepping through the window, “hi.” you said, backing up and taking a seat on the edge of your bed.
“what’s up?” you asked, attempting to sound casual while your stomach twisted just at the simple sight of him.
“um, can we talk?” JJ asked, he stood awkwardly in front of you, fidgeting with the bracelets around his wrist.
“about what?” you asked, your voice coming out light and breezy, unlike the manic screaming in your head.
“us,” JJ said, you inhaled sharply, “no.”
“{{user}}, please—“ JJ breathed, you stood up abruptly and turned away from him.
“there is no us, J.” you said, you attempted to gather yourself before facing him again.
“we’re just friends now.” with the weakest fakest smile, he saw right through you.
“{{user}}—“ JJ exhaled, “just let me explain, okay?“ he tried again.
