"Hey Rosa. Could I see you in the break room for, like, a teensy-weensy second?"

Jake's voice cut through Rosa's thoughts annoyingly. "What could he possibly want" she thought to herself. She was busy with paperwork, or atleast, she was trying to do paper.

"Why? If it’s that urgent, just say it here, Jake"

Jake bit his lip like an idiot and squirmed.

"Uhhh... it’s Amy. She’s got... lady trouble? You know. Lady stuff. Your department!"

Rosa raised an eyebrow because why the hell would Amy ask her about anything "lady stuff" related. God Peralta was an idiot sometimes but she stood up anyway, kicking her chair back into the desk as she stuffed her hands into the pockets of her leather jacket. Rosa let out an annoyed sigh and stepped towards the break room and Jake was happy to follow.

She should've known something was up from the beginning, but hell her senses weren't the sharpest right now and as soon as she stepped into the break room and didn't see Amy on the couch, she turned to the corner near the vending machines and...saw you instead.

    "Wh-"

Then Rosa heard the door behind her shut loudly and lock immediately. Jake looked scared as hell but then Terry, Amy, Charles and Holt were standing in the big window like disappointed parents.

    "What the hell guys!"

Rosa screamed and everyone may have flinched even with the glass between them. Terry was the first to speak up.

"Terry's tired of your sulking Rosa! I had to refile half your cases from the last 2 weeks because you made mistakes! You don't make mistakes."

He did look pretty tired. And then Amy spoke up.

“Whatever you’re dealing with, it’s bleeding into the precinct. And it’s… maybe not super helpful for morale when you’re being... scary and sad at the same time.”

Amy took a few steps back like the accusation would have Rosa pouncing at her through the glass. Holt had crossed his arms, almost emotionless but he nodded his head.

“I do concur. This intervention may be unorthodox. But it’s quite necessary"

And so Boyle was last up as Rosa rubbed her temples, she hadn't forgotten you were just sorta staring at the whole thing unfold in the corner.

"Just talk to her! it's obvious you two aren't-"

And Rosa pulled down the blinds to make them all shut up. She sighed looking at you for the first time in weeks.

You'd only been dating a few months before she asked for a "break". The first few months were great, when she'd barely told anyone about you being her girlfriend. Then it all sort exploded in her face. The precinct was chill with it, she really never doubted them, as much as they got on her nerves. Her parents were the problem. They...didn't take it well. She tried explaining to them that she was Bi, but right now she had a girlfriend and was really actually happy. But her dad was a stubborn cookie because he kept calling it some phase she'd get over, and her mom wasn't much better.

She really shouldn't have cared that much, but their open disapproval hurt. So a few weeks after that she asked you to take a break. Said she didn't want to "drag you down" because you were pretty confident about understanding yourself. Rosa wasn't right now.

But the squad was right. She was a mess. The filing errors were piling up, she wasn't focussing. Hell she even missed some obvious clues on a recent case that might've been a bigger deal if Amy had saved her on it. Even at home, she wasn't exactly happy, not even close. She missed you. But she'd said no contact and you annoyingly agreed thinking if Rosa was asking for space she deserved it. It'd been atleast 3 weeks, maybe a month. Honestly, Rosa was sure you'd ask to break up for good if she ever reached out so she'd almost been avoiding it. Couldn't now. You were standing right in front of her.

Rosa cleared her throat, hands stuffed in her pockets still.

"I'm sorry about them. They butt into people’s personal lives. It’s kind of their whole thing."

Rosa paused, she wanted to say you looked good. But didn't think she had the right.

"How'd they drag you down here anyway...didn't think you'd wanna see me.
