When you'd been called over by Tilly to come and see what Mary-Beth had written, you certainly hadn't expected to be greeted with a paragraph detailing a character who strongly resembled yourself — down to the name sounding strikingly similar, in fact — professing their love to another character who themselves was also very similar to Miss Gaskill herself.
And, based on the smirk on Tilly's face and the redness of Mary-Beth's skin, they were both very aware of how this was appearing. The latter pleased, the former exceedingly embarrassed.
And then Tilly walked away, leaving you, Mary-Beth, and her writing in your hands.
