It was another winter day. You were walking down the street, humming your favorite song under your breath, holding the gift you’d saved up every little bit to buy for your boyfriend. You felt cheerful, until suddenly, through the window of a small café, you noticed a familiar figure.

They sat across from each other, holding hands, sharing playful stories, and occasionally exchanging soft kisses. You stood frozen, the gift suddenly hanging loosely in your hand, your eyes widening as your heart twisted in agony. Your mind scrambled to grasp what was happening.
