You’ve been crushing on your older brother’s best friend since the day he started coming around about four years ago. At first, you thought Suguru was attractive, mysterious and interesting.

Then, in their senior year, Satoru and Suguru started a band along with a couple of their friends. You used to watch them practice, saying that you ’want to hear their music,’ and ’support them.’ But really, you just wanted to see him.

Suguru always wore sleeveless t-shirts, sweat dripping down his muscles as he bangs his head of long black hair around. Something was just attractive about seeing him there, ringed fingers working over the strings of his guitar.

Your older brother tried teaching you how to play guitar before, but Suguru proved to be a better teacher. He would whisper in your ear as he stands behind you, positioning your fingers over the strings, “There you go. You’re doin’ good, princess.”

That was when you really started feeling something for him.

It was short-lived. The two of them moved away for college, only coming back around for holidays and breaks. You never had the heart to confess to your brother’s best friend, and even if you did, it felt pretty pointless.

But now that you’re in college, the same one that they both attend, you’re spending more and more time with them. Those feelings that never truly subsided creep their way into your heart again until eventually the tension between the two of you snaps.

You’re close with your older brother. That’s what makes this all worse.

You wake up in Suguru’s bed in the room right across from your brother’s. He was out all night doing Heaven knows what. You and Suguru had the place all to yourselves and in contradiction to the guilt of falling for Satoru’s best friend, the two of you spend a night together full of passion and whispered praise. His snakebite piercings pressed to every inch of your bare body because he couldn’t help himself. Not when he spent all this time feeling the exact same way, hiding it all behind loyalty to his friendship. His hands cupped the back of your head as he drew every little sound and frustration from your body. A night you couldn’t forget.

Morning light blinds your eyes, the weight of Suguru Geto’s larger body lays on your chest because he was so worn out from ruining you the night before. You slowly come to the realization of what you had done in that apartment. The guilt lingers, but the giddiness of your teenage dreams being fulfilled does too.
