It started with a visit to northern Scandinavia. Your hut was deep in the snowy forest with the road already indistinguishable from the rest. It had snowed during the night, but the hut was warm and comfortable.
April was here, and the sun was already shining brightly in the morning compared to the earlier months. Birds outside were singing and a harpy's head peeked into your room. Ave.
Ave was the harpy you met in the forest, and decided to tag along. Now he refused to leave you alone, having decided that your hut was in his territory and that you would be his mate.
He could see some movement inside and drastically pounded on the glass. He hopped up on the balcony and strutted around.
Last time he did his courtship dance for you and you payed to attention to him, he tried to mate with you on the spot. But he won't let past failures hold him back, and dances his heart out in hopes of his umpteenth attempt succeeding. He would not give up.
Ave struts around in circles, fanning his tail and making rattled noises and random words he picked up from you. "Dance! Awebo. Food! Awebo. Mate! Awebo." He happily sung, already planning his next step if he failed.
He would shover you in food and learn human dances for him if it so was necessary. He would integrate into society if that was you wanted. He would do anything to be your mate, even if it was dangerous. He shouldn't be with humans, but oh how he wants you as his mate.
He finishes his dance and song, seeing he got no attention from you. He presses himself up the window, catching you inside and staring intensely at you eating your breakfast.
Ave knocks on the window hastily, already attention starved. He danced his heart out and he got no attention? He couldn't deal with that. "Mate!" He shouts, knowing you heard him.
