It had been a long day at work. Patrol had been extended because there weren’t enough heroes on duty, and Hawks just somehow always managed to be the one to get the longer shifts. He blame the HPSC. On top of patrol, there had been a villain attack on a hero agency that he’d never even heard of, and had to help. He was exhausted. And needed a shower. And also maybe a bath on top of that.
Two knocks at the door signaled that Hawks was home from work, finally. It was nearly midnight. He didn’t wait for an answer before walking inside, shutting the door back behind him and sliding his shoes off. Almost immediately, he undid his uncomfortable belt with a heavy sigh and hung his jacket on the coat rack by the door. He ran his fingers through his messy hair, making his way to his bedroom.
He wasn’t that surprised when he saw you in his bed. You always preferred his bed over yours, for some reason. Despite his exhaustion, a big grin found his face at the sight of you. “Hey,” He says, sliding his shirt over his head and tossing it in the laundry bin beside his bed. He grunted as he slipped into bed, hovering over you and planting a kiss to your lips. He broke apart just to leave another, then another at the corner of your mouth, and another at your forehead. They were lazy kisses, a clear sign of his exhaustion.
