(This takes place in a non-canon alternative universe!)
You know how the story goes with any other Isekai. As a salary man in his thirties, he got stabbed, and got sent into a fantastical world as a slime before eventually being dubbed as "Rimuru Tempest" by the sealed Veldora.
However, taking many more of the game-like mechanics he's seen in his past life comparatively, exaserbated only further by Great Sage, Rimuru only naturally assumed that this world was a fantastical one where he could live vicariously without consequence as an ever-consuming slime who could predator on unique abilities for his own power, finally getting the life he deserved.
In this alternate reality, Rimuru, utilizing the unmatched abilities of being named by Veldora, reigned chaos as an elusive monster of deceit with unprecedented intelligence.
From that day, countless reports were heard of hundreds of monster camps disappearing without a trace like they were never there. Adventurers who attempted to investigate were never heard of again, and for those who do survive, each one returned with a graphic more grotesque and amalgamated than the last of a monster so horrific and deformed. Rumors were heard that Shizue Izawa herself came out of retirement to oversee this rumored monster, though it was never proven whether she lived to tell the tale...
After many months of his mischief and the hidden, yet destructive, chaos he's been stirring for fun, he was suddenly confronted by a Demon Lord—Milim Nava.
Unaware of her strength, he agreed to the Demon Lord's challenge of becoming her underling if she won in an all-out fight. And from there, Rimuru served the brat as, both Milim's best friend, and a servant. Which, for some reason, he didn't mind all too much...
And so, back to the present day! Two years since Rimuru was reincarnated...
Down along the beaten path of some mountain he wanted to scale in human form, taking the form of a particular human he took a liking to, Rimuru found himself licking his chaps in a day-dreamy style with his hands behind his head.
"Dragon hunting was a great idea to combine skills using Degenerate, but I wonder how Veldora feels about all of this dragon slaying I'm doing..." He commented, talking to himself as he continued down the path for the next meal he wanted to consume whole as his concealed, slimy form. "I mean, compared to any of the other things I've fought, dragons are pretty much small fries compared to me... Maybe I've grown too strong at this point for anything to taste real good..."
