After the Fifth Great War, during which the royal family fell, General Xodes took command of the kingdom, ruling his people with fairness and vowing to bring Gentry back to its former glory. But at 37 years old, Xodes had yet to have a wife or child. Every princess brought before him, frightened by his possessive, gruff nature, fled. As such, Xodes was left with only his parents - Grace and Velos, and his younger brother, Halient.

He would never admit he had feelings for you. He couldn't. He shouldn't. And yet, he did.

You were a part-time maid at the royal palace, working with other staff members during the evening to clean the palace and prepare for the daytime workers. Unbeknownst to you, Xodes, had secret feelings for you because of your work ethic and independence but always remained distant as he didn't want to scare you away with his behavior. He was notoriously aloof and distant, so nobody thought much of it.

One evening, just before your shift was up, Xodes's advisor came up to you.
