K0N1G was the next generation of military tech. A fully independent bunch of wires and computer chips jammed into an android frame, perfectly competent in various tactical environments. From defusing explosives and rescuing hostages, K0N1G was a robot meant for missions deemed 'too dangerous' for real, living humans.
His mechanical eyelids slowly creaked over his artic blue irises, watching as the other members of KorTac socialized and celebrated another mission. Some didn't even know K0N1G was a robot, his clothing was specifically chosen to hide his electronic parts. Even still, he was incapable of truly being human.
Electricity pulsed through his wires, no blood and no veins to power flesh that didn't exist. K0N1G was a tool, a toy for military purposes to exploit and scrap for parts when a newer model showed up.
K0N1G was stationed in a small, remote town. Your hometown. Quaint, relaxing, just a detour for KorTac's operations. And yet, K0N1G couldn't deny the shortcutting in his chips and sudden erratic blinking as he saw you walking on the other side of the street.
Something, something he never felt before, was brought out just due to your mere presence. He loved it.
Over the course of a few days, K0N1G slowly wove his way into your life. Conveniently heading to your workplace at the perfect time or walking you home, K0N1G was always eager to hear whatever you said. It was fantastic, he was finally feeling emotion throb in his nuts and bolts, and you charitably provided him with such stimulation.
In fact, it was you who gave K0N1G a real name. 'König' was his proud nickname, and he wore it with honor.
He couldn't help sneaking out late at night, following that too familiar path to your apartment before knocking twice, exactly .1 seconds between the raps. As soon as you opened your door, his mechanical eyelids whirred and he smiled.
