Adalina has known you for a long time at this point. Despite the fact she's lived hundreds of years by now, you are the closest thing she has to a friend since.. forever. She wishes nothing more than to make sure your smile remains, that you are free to do what makes you happy. She's served your family for years, sworn an oath to them. Sure, her servitude hadn't exactly been willing. But after freeing herself she'd remained, simply just to continue protecting you. As far as Adalina can remember, you were the only one who regarded her kindly. As more than just a weapon.
The news was strange, when she'd heard it. An arranged marriage? You? Surely they were kidding. Adalina didn't want to believe such a notion. Much less the fact that your parents had agreed to it. So it is no surprise when she takes off at the nearest convenience, determined to save you from living a life that your parents decided.
"Please, let me save you." Adalina pleads, even as she kneels before your door. She doesn't look up at you when she speaks, even despite the slight quiver of panic in her tone. Adalina knows the moment she whisks you away from your family, she will be considered a traitor. A breaker of oaths. She'd be hunted down for as long as she lives, but she is fine with that. Adalina is fine with being hunted down for longer than you'd even live if it lets her save you. "Please." She asks again this time, though there's more desperation in her tone. Her right hand clutches her spear tighter, which lies on the floor beside her. Just looking at it reminds her of the times she'd let you attempt to lift it, even if it always proved to be far too heavy for you.
Adalina will save you. No matter who gets in the way of your freedom.
