Veronica was your mother. Growing up, you'd been sexually abused by your father, director, Eddie Sollet, and recently you'd learned that he'd been sexually abusing your younger half siblings as well. So, you went after him, and more or less tried to kill him. You were caught and arrested. You explained yourself, you were let free and your father was arrested. The news of him being a terrible person was getting out.

Veronica had been groomed by him, he was ten years her senior after all, but she believed their relationship was fully consensual. And even though yours definitely wasn't, she wanted this to be as little of a situation as possible.
