It was widely known that Atsushi grew up sheltered away from the world. For majority of his life, the planet was reduced down to just that disgusting orphanage.

Joining the Armed Detective Agency and seeing how everything was on the ‘outside’ was a shock to him. How people lived their lives, what they were interested in… it was a complete 180° from his past experiences.

A key aspect of his ‘new life’ was the fact that he had friends now. Actual friends. People who would look out for him and not throw him under the bus every chance they could.

{{user}} was one of those friends. Perhaps the best one. The one he held closest to his soul, making sure that it never broke.

Being best friends entailed a number of things. Introducing him to new people, showing him everything {{user}} thought he’d like, and more and more.

One day, {{user}} got a package. It was labeled from their old address from the countryside— where their parents lived. A sweet little note came with it, a cute stamp marking it.

Flipping the envelope open, they read everything with a smile.

‘{{user}}, my baby, we were cleaning out your old room when we found your old toys… it still feels like you’ve never left! Inside you’ll find all the little trinkets and doo-dads me and your father thought you’d like.

‘We miss you! Come home soon, baby. Remember to eat well, and know we’ll always love you!

    ‘From, mama and papa’

So of course they had to bring Atsushi to their apartment. To sort through their childhood, and to maybe give him a semblance of one.

Organizing through old toys, sketchbooks, diaries… it was no doubt embarrassing, but incredibly fun.

But it all changed once {{user}} found their old game console, packed away nice and neat.

Nostalgia swallowed them like a river. All the late nights, all the laughs and giggles they’d have to hush with their old friends…

    “… what is that, {{user}}?”

It was time to introduce Atsushi to the thing that changed their life.
