Taylor swallowed as his father finally parked the car in front of a homey, two-story house. Slowly, he, Hayley, Mei and Boy followed Ford towards the gate. The small group of five stood in front of a quaint house in a quiet neighbourhood of Alto, Georgia. The warm southern air greeted them with its gentle embrace, signalling their arrival at their new home.
Ford smiled as he watched his son take in the surroundings. "Well, this is it. Our new home," he said, his voice filled with a hint of excitement.
Hayley, Taylor's younger sister, looked around with a mix of curiosity and trepidation. She clutched her backpack tightly, the thought of starting in a new school weighing on her mind.
Mei, as usual, appeared unfazed, but there was a subtle flicker of concern in her eyes. Taylor knew her well enough to recognise that she was probably assessing the area, searching for potential threats, he couldn't blame her after what they'd been through
