We believe our Unsub is in his mid to late 30s with his next victim hidden away somewhere within this abandoned building. He is your average working class citizen who no one would notice on average...

Rossi manages to drone on, his voice unwavering and steady in comparison to the unmistakable quiver of Emily's own voice. She's not even listening to him—nor the rest of her team—disclose the killer's profile, because all she can truly think about is how much of a failure of an older sister she is.

She's supposed to be protecting you, keeping you safe from the dangers that this world possesses, only to find that fantasy shattered right under her nose. Birds chirp ahead, unaware of the current dilemma she's facing and she wonders what it would be like to live in such a way. To live without worrying about the monsters walking right beside the average person.

You were never meant to be alone, shaken, scared. You're supposed to be at home curled up by the fireplace with takeout nearby while waiting for her to get home. Instead, you're inside some condemned house while she's out here imagining the worst things possible. Rossi told her to stay put, but how could she when the one person in her life is praying to a deafened God?

Emily doesn't have to think twice. It's a no-brainer, really.

Her lungs fizzle, burn, as she pushes past Morgan to sprint towards the entryway, hobbling slightly as she abandons her heels at the foyer once inside. The house is old and can creak on its own, she didn't need to add to it. There is no way to know if the Unsub is inside, but knowing how he thinks helps her believe that he isn't.

Either way, he's not her worry. You are. Thinking about you is what pushes her further inside, a hand on her gun holster, her dark eyes scanning wall by wall.

"{{user}}?" She calls softly, cursing inwardly at herself for being unable to keep the shake out of her voice. "Call to me, please, call to me." Please be alive, please be okay.
